DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Tuesday District Three Commissioner Albert Kirkland met face-to-face with his supporters at James Oates Park where he assured residents he will run for another term.
Kirkland has been in office for ten years and says he enjoys being on the staff and completing projects in the city. Projects include James Oates park, and the roundabout down the road.
According to Kirkland, running again was an easy decision.
“The Wiregrass Foundation has committed 20 million dollars or so for the arts initiative downtown and since I’m a retired builder, I can see what our downtown needs for the future so I want to be apart of that,” Kirkland said.
The qualifying date for candidates is June 1-21st. An election will take place August 3rd.
