DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Most Dothan City Schools will return to in-person learning Tuesday.

Staff shortages sent students home last week, but most should be back tomorrow, except for Girard Intermediate School’s 3rd and 4th-grade classes. They’ll remain in remote learning until they go back in person on Friday.

Dothan City Schools will continue to monitor COVID-19 and its variants impact on our schools, staffing issues, and communities. Masks will be strongly encouraged inside all DCS facilities and campuses; Per Federal Regulations, Masks are required on all DCS Transportation and DCS Head Start’s campus (a federally regulated school/program). Per CDC, any individual who was out last week positive will be required to wear a mask for the remainder of this week.

DCS students and staff will also be asked to self-monitor for symptoms of COVID-19.

If they feel sick, they are asked to stay home from school.

All DCS bus routes will return to normal operations on Tuesday, and all athletic events will continue as scheduled.
