DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Today, the Dothan Early Education Center welcomed some special visitors.
State Department of Early Childhood Education personnel came to visit the Circle City.
They’re touring early childhood centers across Alabama. By 2026, the objective is to increase pre-school access for children by 270%.
The visitors are observing successful early education centers like Dothan.
“We are so excited that Dothan city has chosen to bring all of their children into an early learning center,” Secretary of Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education Dr. Barbara Cooper said. “They’re able to really maximize the resources that they have. We always learn something new when we are out taking a look at what’s happening in the various programs throughout Alabama.”
Dr. Cooper also says there’s at least one successful early education center in each of Alabama’s 67 counties.
