DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Dothan Downtown is hosting Southern Fall on Foster on Saturday.
A time to come out and enjoy these cooling temperatures with the community.
Kiss my Axe is hosting a tailgate, featuring football games, cornhole, and much more, with other businesses, such as Bird and Bean, Stix and Cones, and KBC Downtown are providing refreshments as well.
Businesses are happy to have events like this come back, to spend the afternoon with the community.
“Anytime Dothan Downtown puts information and blasts information out there like that and allows us to be a part of it, it definitely shows us an influx in customers,” House Manager of Kiss My Axe, Brittney Pettis said.
“It brings a lot of foot traffic down,” Nightime Manager of KBC Downtown, Corey Bailey said. “You get a lot of people that normally wouldn’t make their way down here. To come to see what is going on. It’s just fine and a good community event too.”
With so many small businesses being negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic; especially downtown. Dothan Downtown hosts as many of these events as possible, to give these small businesses a chance to make back those earnings.
“Covid kinda hit us and slowed us down,” said Pettis. “But we have a great community here, people are definitely coming back out and showing us love.”
With foster fest being canceled this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, community members are ready to get back out there and share some good memories with great people.
“Really, I’ve missed it, a lot of people cant say the same,” said Bailey. “I think it is fun, it’s a nice community event, where everybody comes together. People come down as I said, that normally wouldn’t come down. To downtown Dothan and see what is happening. Especially now since we have a lot more stuff.
