DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Friends of the Dothan Houston County Library made the largest donation ever to the library $42,000.

Every year, the group spends the year working on funds to give to the library and they accomplish that goal through memberships and their book sales that take place all throughout the year.

However, the community is a huge part of the success that’s how they were able to get a wide range of books to sell for just one dollar.

Library employees say the money will be put to good use.

“That donation will go of course to more books, nonfiction, large print books, paperback books, e-books adding to the library collection, it will go towards library activities and some library improvements,” President Everlie Bolton said

Last year the friends of the library gave $25,000. You can always donate and the next book sale will be in April.
