DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — On Monday, The Dothan Miracle League kicked off their six week play season.
The Miracle League is an organization that allows disabled children and adults to play baseball as a team member in an organized league.
Their first game begins at 6 p.m on the Miracle League field at the Westgate Recreation center.
After a two-year absence, with COVID being one of the reasons for the off season, team league members expressed how happy they were to return back to playing.
As the season kicks off, the league is in need of “Buddies.” Buddies assist in players playing, protecting them from baseballs and just being an overall friend to them on and off the field.
Buddies must be 12 years or older and are vital to the Miracle League.
