Dothan road construction update; Easier commute and no bumpy roads


DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN)— For about a year, the roadways throughout Dothan have been filled with orange cones throughout the city.

According to Bart Barefoot, with the City of Dothan, these cones and construction are due to the several projects the city has taken on to improve roads throughout Dothan. He said these projects like Ross Clark Circle expansion, the 84 widening, resurfacing, and many more.

Barefoot said all of these projects will be completed in the next couple of years. He said these projects will make commuting easier.

“It’s just to help traffic flow and then access management to restrict some of the movements, cross movements, so you don’t have accidents,” Barefoot said. “It’s safety, you know safety is a big factor in those road projects. You know we’ve resurfaced and you do have a good smooth roadway,” Barefoot said.
