BLAKELY, Ga. (WDHN) — With coronavirus vaccinations rolling out, companies are moving through the phases set forth by the government.

Early County has entered Phase One Plus of its coronavirus vaccination plan.

This includes medical personnel, firefighters, law enforcement, first responders, and anyone over the age of 65 and their caregivers.

Starting Monday, March 8th, Hall Drug Company will begin vaccinating Georgia educators and other school personnel.

“When we do a full clinic, probably 100 to 120 per day,” said Hall Drug Company pharmacist Leigh Bruner said.

At this time, Georgia pharmacists are not allowed to vaccinate residents of Alabama or Florida.

“We are not allowed to do anybody that isn’t a resident of Georgia, unless they live in Alabama and work in a medical facility in Georgia,” Bruner said.

Currently, there are two other drug stores that work with Hall Drug Company. Together they plan to work to get as many people vaccinated as possible

Between Hall Drug Company, Lane Drug Company, and Bainbridge Pharmacy, around 2,000 people have already been vaccinated—all to keep the surrounding community as safe as possible.

“We just hope to keep our community safe,” Bruner said. “I think that’s one of the things we are trying to do here. To get us back to a normal society and normal running and just to keep our patience safe.”
