ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — For the past year and a half, healthcare workers and first responders have been on the frontlines as the world fights in the battle against COVID-19.
The pandemic has caused healthcare workers to see larger workloads, more stress, and thousands of deaths, but through it all, they continue to push and serve the community every day.
Medical Center Enterprise held a ceremony Friday morning to show their appreciation in honor of this perseverance.
“We want to gather to recognize our staff,” Medical Center Enterprise Interim CEO, Greg McGilvray said. “For those each and every day that come here who are tirelessly giving themselves, giving up their energy to take care of our community. It takes a village to care for a community, and our staff go above and beyond every day.”
In addition to the gratitude given to the staff of Medical Center Enterprise, the city also contributed to showing their appreciation.
“We might be a small city, but we have a big heart, and all of you played a big part in this,” Mayor of Enterprise, William Cooper said. “So again I say thank you and may God’s richest blessings be upon you, and you do have the support of the city of Enterprise.”
McGillivray says the spirits remain high knowing the community is behind them.
“The love and the prayers and the support from the community has really boosted our staff, the morale of our staff,” Mcgilvray said. “It’s a humbling experience to see that.”
