Enterprise police officers participate in “Shop With a Cop”

ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Enterprise police officers and five children spent a fun-filled day shopping, bowling, going to the movie theater, and even getting some surprise gifts.

The day was meant to help kids who have had “unfortunate encounters or interactions with law enforcement” form positive relationships with officers.

“The police are people too,” Shop With a Cop organizer Travis Parker said. “There’s really another side. Every time they see somebody in uniform they don’t need to just stop or run or get scared. The people are just doing their job.”

To make Shop With a Cop a success, several businesses offered their help by providing free food, snacks, and entertainment for the day.
