ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Enterprise Mayor William Cooper signed a proclamation at a special ceremony on Friday proclaiming November as National Hospice and Home Health Care Month.

The event featured health care professionals representing Enterprise hospice and home health businesses.

One health care professional spoke to WDHN about the many people who care for each hospice patient and how home care wouldn’t be possible without them.

“So you have a nurse, a physician, nurse practitioner, social workers, we have clergy members for bereavement, you have a whole team, hospice aides, that come in and really help you navigate and have health at home because the whole goal is quality of life,” Care Navigator with Covenant Care Hospice, Sonya Jordan said.

Mayor Cooper says the proclamation is also to recognize the courage and strength of terminally ill patients and their families.
