DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Softball players from around the Wiregrass got to hone their skills on Tuesday in Dothan.

Jaala Torrence is a sophomore pitcher at the University of Alabama and while she was in high school she played at Dothan High School.

With the help of fellow Crimson Tide teammates, Jenna Lord, and Savannah Woodard, Torrence held a softball clinic at the Westgate Park gym.

Fifth grade through 12th-grade athletes participated in the clinic, where they learned fielding, pitching, and hitting techniques. Torrence said that this was something that she has wanted to do for a long time.

“Kind of wanted to run a camp here in Dothan just to give back,” Torrence said. “It’s been a rewarding experience just working with youth here that love the sport as much as I do.”

The Torrence family would like to thank Mercedes-Benz of Dothan for helping put on Tuesday’s softball clinic.
