Former Elba Elementary School Principal Debra Johnson-Strickland indicted by Geneva Co. Grand Jury

GENEVA CO., Ala. (WDHN) — Last week, a former Elba principal was indicted by a Geneva County Grand Jury for leaving the scene of an accident with injury.

Last June, the Alabama Highway Patrol reported that 38-year-old Debra Johnson-Strickland of Samson. Her vehicle reportedly crossed the centerline and struck a car head-on.

The occupants of the second vehicle were injured, one victim suffered a brain bleed and a fractured spine,
while a second suffered from a broken arm and hip injuries.

The state says she left the scene of the crash involving injuries, on foot but was later arrested.

Following the incident, Strickland resigned from her role as principal. She is now scheduled for trial
in a Geneva courtroom on December six.
