FT. RUCKER, Ala. (WDHN) — The exchange on Fort Rucker will hold a celebration for military children over the weekend.
There will be a children’s book reading starting at 11 a.m. followed by a parade throughout the store as well as a walk around the exchange where kids can get different toys and trinkets.
Exchange manager Jessica Lynch explained why it’s so important to remember the children of our heroes.
“It’s important to recognize that they’re part of this package too and they support their moms or their dads every single day,” Lynch said. “That is a huge huge deal and because of that we’ve really gotten forward in the last number of years to really make that a big deal.”
Lynch looks forward to the celebration as she is a military child herself.
