MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) — Governor Kay Ivey called a special session to allow lawmakers to narrow the focus in getting her infrastructure bill passed.

The special session will focus solely on the governor’s Rebuild Alabama infrastructure plan, which includes the state gas tax increase

“We’ve talked about the bill, we’ve had everybody asking questions about it, we’ve had meetings about it. So the Infrastructure Bill is priority number one in the house,” Rep. Mac McCutcheon (R-AL), speaker of the house, said.

Lawmakers will convene Wednesday at 9 a.m. to begin day one of the special session.
