DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The former Carmike Cinemas building in the Circle West Shopping Center will soon feature a new family entertainment center — Hangar 38.

“Well, I was doing the research and stuff this was a great place Dothan itself needed a place like this, a place to come here and have a lot of fun,” General Manager Andy Goolesby said.

The fun was supposed to begin in October of last year but the pandemic put those plans on hold.

“Yeah unfortunately if it wasn’t for COVID we would probably already be open at least a year now but we got the ball rolling,” Goolesby said. “We’re probably not as far as we would like to be at this point but we have solutions and not problems and we’ll be where we need to be at the end of the week.”

Hangar 38 will be a family-friendly atmosphere with an eight-lane bowling alley, around 80 arcade games, a private party room, a full-service restaurant with a kitchen, a bar, and outside seating.

Doors will open on June 26th.

“I’m expecting us to be extremely busy there’s no place like this in Dothan and we couldn’t be more honored to bring a place like this to Dothan,” Goolesby said.

The manager says they have about 70 people on staff already but they would like to have over 100 people.

They are currently hiring for all positions.
