HEADLAND, Ala (WDHN) — A Headland Police Officer was severely injured after getting into a crash Friday afternoon, according to Henry County EMA Director Matt Hatcher.

The officer was responding to a call on Henry County Road 99 when he was hit in the passenger side by a civilian vehicle.

Hatcher says the officer was listed in critical condition, and the patrol car took heavy damage in the crash.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency are running the investigation.
