A joint event between Vivian B. Adams School organizers and the Heart of Dixie Coon Hunters is set for Sat., April 7 in an effort to raise money for the school.
The day gets kicked off with an official UKC Bench Show at 3 p.m.
Entry Fee for that event is $15.00 by the time the show begins.
Next is the “Join the Pack” dog show for kids 12 and under to show off their dogs.
That begins at 3:30 p.m. with a live auction following those two events.
Rounding out the day is a night hunt, which is a timed event involving teams of four dogs and four handlers competing to “tree” a raccoon.
Points are awarded for identifying a raccoon, moving it toward a tree and securing it in the tree.
There is no shooting involved.
The entry fee for that is $20, and you can register and pay at the time of the event which begins at 7 p.m.
