House burns following apparent lightning strike in Lucy Community

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Several volunteer fire departments responded to a home on fire in southeastern Houston County during Saturday’s storms.

Fire personnel were dispatched to Fire Department Road in the Lucy Community just before 11 a.m. Volunteer firefighters from Lucy, Lovetown, Cottonwood, and Pansey responded, finding a fully-involved house fire.

According to reports, the house is located at the corner of County Road 4 and Fire Department Road.

The house fire is believed to have been caused by a lightning strike.

No one injuries have been reported.
