DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Today, Houston County teachers were treated to lunch Friday wrapping up teacher appreciation week.

Every year, the first week of May is when teachers get the extra credit they deserve from students and school administrators.

It’s been a tough two years. Houston County teachers had to change their lesson plans to accommodate students due to virtual learning during the pandemic — while also trying to get a new attendance and grading system under their fingertips.

Earlier this week, teachers were treated to sweet treats and breakfast. Friday — the last day of their special week — it was a barbecue lunch.

“It’s great to be seen for what you do with the facility and what you do for the children throughout the year. We have great administrators here Dr. Kennedy, Ms. Supita, and Mr. Bradley we have a great group of leaders here,” said Danielle Shelley, Houston County Information Technology Instructor.

From all of us at WDHN thanks to all teachers in the Wiregrass for your dedication and hard work.
