HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN)  — Houston Sheriff’s investigators are looking into a shooting at a night club in Wicksburg. The shooting happened before 6 a.m. Sunday morning.

Deputies responded to Teasers, but the club-goers had left the scene. According to reports, a gunshot victim showed up at Medical Center Enterprise a short time later. The victim reportedly indicated the shooting happened at the night club.

Photos from the scene show crime scene tape up in the parking lot and investigators looking for clues into what might have led up to the shooting.

At this time, it is unclear why the shooting occurred and if any arrests have been made.

Houston County Commissioner Brandon Shoupe confirmed the shooting with a post on his Facebook page.

“This is another sad chapter for an establishment we all thought would long be closed by now,” he said.

“Twice since I was elected, I’ve had our attorney look into Teasers. It turns out clubs like Teasers have exploited a loophole which have allowed them to continue to exist for far too long.”

Shoupe indicated he has contacted the county commission’s attorney to look into a possible local ordinance that would shut down topless entertainment establishments in the county.

Teasers Gentleman’s Club is located on U.S. Highway 84 near the intersection of Alabama State Route 123.

In 2012, a shooting left three people dead at the establishment.

This is a developing story. WDHN News will have more information when it is available.
