BLACK, Ala. (WDHN)—Recently, the small border community of Black, Alabama has seen a number of improvements to it’s community park.

Black Councilwoman Maxine DeBord says a pole barn has been constructed in the town of Black
Community Park.

The structure was built through private donations of property, money, and materials.

The pole barn complete with concrete floor costs around five thousand dollars.

During the Spring and Summer, DeBord expects the venue to be used for various community functions.

Besides the pole barn, the town also used Alabama Department of Economic Community Affairs dollars to install new playground equipment and a walking trail.
