(WDHN) — Alabama lawmakers will enter week two of the special called session addressing the spending of the American Rescue Funds.

Representative Steve Clouse says it’s been a productive week so far and both republicans and democrats are on the same page endorsing where the funds will go.

The funds are split into multiple sections such as hospitals and nursing homes, unemployment trust fund, water and sewer, broadband, and reimburse counties for the state inmates left in jails longer due to the pandemic.

Representative Clouse says everything is looking good and it will pay off for Alabama citizens.

“We’ll vote on Tuesday then we send the bill to the Senate, they will pass their bill identical to ours, and send it to us and then the committee and hopefully we’ll have this passed on Thursday,” Rep. Clouse said.
