LEVEL PLAINS, Ala. (WDHN) — In cities and towns across the Wiregrass, lots of trick-or-treat activities are happening Friday and Saturday.

Saturday night in Level Plains, they’re going to roll out the spooktacular magic carpet for the trunk or treat event.

Free food will be provided by Hibachi Joes, also lots of treats for the little ones and their parents.

Police Chief John “Boy” Summers says this is a good way for his officers to connect with the children and all residents, showing them that police are here to help.

“That’s my biggest thing since I took over in November,” Summers said. “The mayor and I are on the same page about music, community police, and we want to take care of what we want to take care of. And to treat people like how we want to be treated.”

The level plains trunk-or-treat event has been extended from five to eight o’clock Saturday night in the city’s community park on Z Street.
