TAYLOR, Ala. (WDHN) — Local business, Tin Pig’s Barbeque, is celebrating its one-year anniversary by feeding Taylor residents.
Tin Pig’s Barbeque opened up last year in the midst of the pandemic. Owner James McMiller explained how it was challenging because of how slow business was.
This weekend’s anniversary celebration is to show their appreciation to their supporters.
McMiller will be giving out free meals to residents on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tickets were given out to citizens this week, and that’s what they must present to receive their free meal.
Despite their difficulties, McMiller is thrilled.
If you did not receive a ticket earlier in the week, he said even without a ticket, you can still come and get some free barbecue.
“It’s been slow, but it gets better and better every day, so we’re thankful for that, it was something we really wanted to do, so we’re very excited about it,” McMiller said.
He hopes to open a Tin Pig’s Barbeque in his hometown of Slocomb, in the future.
