DeFuniak Springs, Fla. (WDHN)– In two hours, more than 15-hundred vehicles went through a drive-thru food pantry held
At a Defuniak Springs shopping center.

The far majority have recently been laid-off at South Walton
Tourist based restaurants, taverns, and motels.

Maxtrix Outreach non-profit’s Candy Nowling says, “The drive-thru food pantry to provide protection for our volunteers’ and protection for the recipients as well.”
The food was distributed by several area non-profits’ along with the state’s delivery of fresh fruit and veggies’.
Walton County Emergency Management officials say they’ve been told “unemployment” levels could exceed
double-digit levels of the labor force.

Organizers of the drive-thru food pantry say they helped with needed supplies.
A lot more help will be required for those left without work due to COVIDE-19.
