Houston County, Ala. (WDHN) — A new policy adopted at today’s Houston County Commission meeting could mean huge changes for residents.
The plan would require the homeowner, or contractor, with a driveway in the county to keep up its maintenance for 2 years. After that time, the county will take over responsibility for any damage.
“We think our citizens deserve better than 3 different areas to either provide a different level of service or change the way we serve and that’s one of the areas,” Commission Chairman Mark Culver said.
The Commission plans to continue to look over more policies that benefit residents. They’re looking at all areas to make sure taxpayer dollars are spent efficiently.
