UPDATE:

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — WDHN has received new details on the Friday night crash between a semi-truck and a train in Dothan.

The driver of the truck suffered minor cuts to his head but has since been released from the hospital, according to Dothan Police.

The railroad tracks at the site of the crash were warped due to the impact, however, the tracks are scheduled to be repaired on Monday.

Part of the DPD’s investigation into the cause of the crash includes testing for any possible impairment by the driver of the truck.

HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Both Dothan Police and Dothan Fire are on the scene of an accident involving a train and a semi-truck.

The accident happened on North Beverlye Road, close to Kelly Drive in Dothan. Crews got the call about the incident around 9:40 p.m.

According to the operator of the train, the semi-truck t-boned the train.

Dothan Police tell WDHN that an injured person was taken away in an ambulance, however, their condition is currently unknown. There is an ongoing investigation into why the driver of the truck hit the train.
