HENRY COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Henry County residents will soon see new projects thanks to some state grants.
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs awarded Henry County $300,000 to push forward for plans the county has wanted to purse for a while.
This money will help refloor the Abbeville Boys and Girls Club, enhance the Childhood Development Program at Greater Shiloh Baptist Church in Headland and complete many other projects.
“If it had all gone to the county, it wouldn’t have been a drop in the bucket to what we got to have,” Henry County Probate Judge, David Money said. “So we decided to use it on projects that have been needed and knowing that money is going to be spent there, takes that part off of our list to do things. So yeah we’re excited about it.”
The grant will also cover new renovations for the Henry County Annex building for a safer environment for emergency dispatch.
