DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — According to the Alabama Department of Public Health, more than 3,440,000 Alabamians have been vaccinated against the Coronavirus.

District Clinic Director of the ADPH, Johna Cotton, said they’re once again seeing an increase of residents getting the vaccine but, the struggle isn’t anywhere close to being over yet.

Cotton said the ADPH is working to convince the non-vaccinated that the shot is the best way to avoid the standard COVID-19 virus or one of its variants. She said health professionals say the only way to eliminate the virus is to get folks to roll up their sleeves and get the vaccine.

“We want to reach as many people as we can,” Cotton said. “What we want the public to know is that if you want the vaccine, we will give you the vaccine. We will come to you to give you the vaccine. We are making ourselves available in our district and especially here in the Wiregrass today.”

Cotton said if you have any questions concerning the vaccine, you can call your respective county health department for the answers. She said it’s important to get your vaccine now rather than later.
