HARTFORD, Ala. (WDHN) — A house fire in Hartford has displaced one family.

Fire officials responded to the 600 block of South 9th Avenue in Hartford to a house fire. When they arrived the home was fully engulfed in flames.

No one was home at the time of the fire and crews were able to quickly put out the flames and control the fire. Smoke is still visible from the home and crews are still at the home working in the rain to put out any hot spots.

Animals were in the backyard of the home at the time of the fire, but they were not harmed and crews were able to save them.

The home has been labeled a total loss.

Hartford Fire and Rescue, Slocomb Fire and Rescue, Black Volunteer Fire Department, Hartford Police, and ALEA responded to the scene.
