ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Less than three weeks before the mid-term elections, Alabama Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth was the guest speaker at the monthly Coffee County Republican Women’s Club meeting.

Lt. Governor Ainsworth asked the club members to get their friends and family to the
polls and vote republican.

He had positive words for Enterprise native daughter Katie Britt who is running for the seat of retiring U.S. Senator Richard Shelby.

She holds a significant fundraising lead over her Democratic challenger Will Boyd.

Ainsworth says the Republican Party has her visiting states with tight congressional and senate races.

“When you look at Katie, she is going to be a rock star in the republican party. She’ll represent Alabama well. Really excited for her and what she will do for our state representing us and we’re lucky to have her and Wesley and her family offer themselves for service.”

On election day, Ainsworth does not have democratic opposition but libertarian Ruth Page Nelson is challenging him for the Lieutenant Governor’s seat.
