Alabama’s attorney general visits the Wiregrass

COFFE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Alabama’s attorney general made a stop in the Wiregrass today to speak at the Coffee County Republican Women’s Club meeting.

Marshall pressed the flesh talking with many folks as he begins his election campaign. He spoke with locals that are upset with President Biden and the Democratic-controlled Congress.

Marshall says under his watch, there’s no way Alabama will defund police, an action that has been discussed in some of the nation’s largest metropolitan areas like New York City, Chicago, and Minneapolis.

“Very much so, I feel we need to do more for law enforcement,” said AG Marshall. “We need to talk with transparency of what they are facing. And why in many of our major cities where they have pushed back against law enforcement, we have seen a significant rise in crime in those jurisdictions.”

Marshall also took aim at many Republican state lawmakers who approved a medical marijuana bill during this past year’s legislative session. Marshall says the bill sends the wrong message, especially to young people

Besides Marshall, there are no other announced candidates for Alabama attorney general at this time.

The Republican Primary is a little less than a year away, in May 2022.
