ABBEVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) — Alcohol sales on Sunday will begin in the unincorporated areas of Henry County after July 1st.

During the primary election in May, 2,717 voters were in favor of Sunday alcohol sales, and 1,877 voted against.

On Tuesday, the Henry County Commission officially set a date for alcohol sales to begin and because of the 4th of July Holiday, the amendment will officially begin on Friday, July 1st at 12:01 a.m.

Consumers who purchase alcohol on Sundays in the unincorporated areas of Henry County will be able to buy alcohol, after 2 p.m.
