ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — A new era has gotten underway in critical care in the western Wiregrass.

An air ambulance is now based at Enterprise Municipal Airport and is expected to save lives in serious car wrecks, and other health issues when seconds can mean the difference between life and death.

This air ambulance helicopter is now permanently based at Enterprise Municipal Airport. The helicopter has several pilots and crews that cover 24/7, 365 days a year.

It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, which is essential when dealing with
vehicle wrecks, along with heart attacks and strokes.

“I always stress about the response time, and response time is of the essence when you have a critical patient.” Enterprise Rescue officials say the new helicopter raises the level of critical care
to the capabilities of larger cities in the state like Mobile, Birmingham, and Huntsville.
