ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN)—An agreement between Coffee County and the city of Enterprise will
allow the Alabama Bureau of Investigation, better known as SBI to build a new field office in the
wiregrass.

The city of Enterprise donated the property to Coffee County, and the county in turn donated
the land to the state.

Recently, construction got underway at the Yancey Parker Industrial Park off Highway 167 North
in Enterprise.

Once complete, the facility is also expected to house additional state law enforcement offices.

Currently, SBI has offices in Dothan and Andalusia.

Enterprise officials say “The city or progress” is a midway point between those two cities, and could allow a shorter
response time in the event of a criminal investigation in the wiregrass.

The SBI is a component of “ALEA”, which stands for the Alabama Law Enforcement agency. It often assists city and county
law enforcement with evidence gathering and lab testing.
