DALE CO. Ala (WDHN)—Dale Co. Judge Benjamin Bowden has reinstated the $105,000 bond for a woman facing drug charges, who previously had an alleged over-the-phone relationship with an attorney.

Jamie Connolly, 52, was arrested in early 2022 on charges of drug trafficking, possession of marijuana, and possession of heroin.

After her arrest, Connolly wrote a letter to the court alleging that Houston County Prosecutor Mark Johnson had friended her on Facebook in October of 2021 and the two began having an “online relationship”. Johnson was the prosecutor in one of Connolly’s court cases in 2019.

Johnson was placed on leave in February and was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. During his leave, it was reported Johnson was still making his monthly salary of $7,300.
