BLAKELY, Ga. (WDHN) — Early Monday morning, Blakely police responded to two separate reports of gun violence.
According to the Blakely Police Department, around 2 a.m. officers responded to a report of a victim sustaining a gunshot wound at LifeBrite Emergency Room. The 19-year-old male victim suffered non-life threatening injuries from an unknown male suspect who accidentally discharged his weapon.
Around 4 a.m. authorities returned to the LifeBrite Emergency Room in response to a 17-year-old male victim also suffering a gunshot wound. The victim said he was near the intersection of Butler Avenue and North Main Street when an unknown suspect in an unknown make and model vehicle that fired gunshots at him, according to BPD.
The victim was later transported to another medical facility to continue his treatment.
