DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Rotary Club has a new District Governor.

Bruce McNeal will officially step into his position as the new District Governor on July 1.

Members of the club tell WDHN it has been a while since this position has been filled, which makes appointing McNeal very special. McNeal will be responsible for overseeing District 6880.

McNeal said in Alabama there are two districts; in both districts combined there are 49 clubs and over 2,000 members.

“I am honored and certainly humbled to be district governor of this fantastic southern half of Alabama,” McNeal said.

McNeal says the last two years have been a challenge but the future is looking up for the Rotary Club and they’ll be resuming all club activities very soon.
