COFFEE CO., Ala. (WDHN)—The Coffee County Commission unanimously approved the first “update” to
its subdivision policy” since 2007.

County engineer, Marty Lentz, says Enterprise and surrounding areas have seen tremendous residential growth since the last subdivision plan was approved 15 years ago.

The policy looks at how a proposed development will affect overall traffic in that particular area
and will give home builders direction on the “density”, or how many units can be constructed on
a particular parcel of land.

In many cases, farmland countywide is being transformed into residential neighborhoods.

Lentz says home builders and contractors can check the coffee county website for updated information
on the new subdivision policy or contact the county engineer’s office directly.
