ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — On Saturday, June 10, the annual Military Appreciation Day event will be held in downtown Enterprise.
The event will be located on East College Street from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and includes the Patriotic Parade, a best-dressed contest, shopping specials, live music, and more.
“The Moonlighters will fill downtown with the sights and sounds of the big band and swing era,” Main Street Executive Director Mariah Montgomery said. “Bring your chairs or put on your dancing shoes and enjoy the music. We’ll have activities and food trucks. Make plans to join us downtown for an evening of patriotic fun.”
Enterprise Mayor William Cooper will deliver opening remarks and the National Anthem will play at the beginning of the event. State Senator Josh Carnley will also give a speech as well as honoring local veterans.
The Patriotic Parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. and the public is encouraged to dress up and participate. Decorated bikes, wagons, strollers scooters, and tricycles will be allowed in the parade. Participants can enter their “parade look” into a contest that will begin after the parade.
East College Street (from Edwards to Main) will be closed from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the event.
