COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The upcoming Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial end of the 2023 summer tourist season.

Enterprise Rescue personnel say they’ve been swamped responding to vehicle accidents over the last several weeks.

At times, all the department’s ambulances along with its air ambulance have been tied up on emergency calls.

With the Labor Day holiday weekend officially kicking off in two days, drivers are urged to abide by the speed limit and the rules of the world.

“They’ve been slammed lately folks, they have had so many calls and sometimes have all their trucks out there and our air support has been fantastic getting people to the hospital quickly,” says E-911 Director Blair Dean.

This upcoming holiday weekend, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are expected to target impaired drivers heading down to panhandle beaches.
