ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — The state’s first Sweet Tea Festival brewed in Enterprise on Saturday afternoon.

Hundreds took to under the giant tent between Johnny Henderson Park and the Enterprise Civic Center on Highway 167 to celebrate their weekend and try out sweet tea from all around the tri-states.

While also trying out more than 40 food trucks and listening to Nashville recording artists the “Sweet Tea Trio” who performed throughout the festival.

One of the big events was the tea-chugging competition. The competition pitted competitors against each other to see who can chug sweat tea the fastest and the winner for the 10-15 age division this year was an Enterprise native.

“Honestly, it felt like my stomach was going to explode, but chugging it was a breeze for me,” Enterprise native, Tony Onorato said “I looked to my left and right and thought ‘Hey, I can win this.’ so I did.”

Those in attendance said it was a pretty cool and unique time in the City of Progress.
