ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN)— At Enterprise State Community College, the public was invited to meet a wiregrass native and a member of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.

New Brockton native, Paul Hornsby, played with great 1970s musicians Duane and Greg Allman before the famous Allman band was formed.

He also had a producing career, producing albums by such artists as Charlie Daniels, the Marshall Tucker band, and Wet Willie.

Hornsby has lived in Macon, Georgia for a number of years, but says it’s always great to come home where he has strong roots in Coffee County and adds that he’s always amazed to see how many young people are fans of 1970 rock bands.

Local blue’s powerhouse D.J Gil Anthony is a longtime friend of Hornsby and helped organize the panel discussion at ESCC.
