DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Houston County’s economic development is on an upward trend.
On Thursday, county commissioners approved construction for a project that’s expected to bring several jobs to the area. The construction will take place on Sam Houston Boulevard with funds provided by the state.
District 2 City Commissioner Doug Sinquefield explained how the project received over $900,000 in funding.
He believes it will be a great opportunity for the county.
“We’re looking forward to that expansion and as we move into resurfacing that section of that road, then there will be some other work in that area that the county will be participating in,” Sinquefield said.
The project will be discussed more at the next county commission meeting.
