WIREGRASS, Ala. (WDHN) — COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations across the state are relatively low, however, the community transmission levels are on the rise once again.

A majority of the state of Alabama has low community levels, with the state’s positivity rate at 5-7.9 %, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.

As of Thursday, October 20th, All the counties in the Wiregrass have low community levels. However, the community transmission levels for the Wiregrass counties are rising.

Henry County has the highest community transmission with over 100 cases and a 10% positivity rate in the last seven days.

Houston County has substantial community transmission levels with over 50 new cases and a 9% positivity rate in the last seven days.

Geneva, Dale, and Coffee County are currently in the moderate category for community transmissions level with approximately a 5-7.99% positivity rate.
