DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The critical need for blood donations remains in the Wiregrass.

Thursday, LifeSouth partnered with Southeast Health to hold an emergency blood drive.

They were able to receive donations from 40 people in the Wiregrass, but LifeSouth says that the need for all types of blood remains.

The emergency blood drive took place in the parking lot of the wound care facility at Southeast Health.

People who chose to donate blood today received a $10 E-gift card.

If you are looking to donate you can still donate at the LifeSouth Community Blood Donor Center on Ross Clark Circle.

People are allowed to give blood every eight weeks and platelets every two weeks.

If you’re interested in giving blood you can visit their website here, or just walk into the LifeSouth Community Blood Center on Ross Clark Circle.
