DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The suspect who was killed in an apparent Ozark shootout with police has now been named.
Samuel Ed Farnam Jr., 44, of Ozark, was fatally shot by police after an incident that began around 5 p.m. in Ozark, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
No officers were injured during the encounter.
ALEA continues to investigate the shooting, as is protocol during an officer involved shooting.

DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — Alabama state troopers are investigating after deputies chased a car and witnessed shots being fired from the vehicle in Ozark.
Late Monday afternoon, officials with the Dale County Sheriff’s Office say they chased a car that was reportedly firing bullets on Highway 231 near Deese Road in Ozark.
Currently, injuries are unknown, however, an eyewitness told WDHN News that they witnessed a person being covered with a white sheet on the scene.
