Dale County man charged with rape, incest crimes

DALEVILLE, Ala. (WDHN) — A Daleville man is facing multiple charges for sex crimes against a minor, according to the Daleville Department of Public Safety.

Chief Allen Medley said that a few days ago, a concerned citizen informed an officer of inappropriate sexual behavior between Daniel Sayre, 35, and a minor.

The Department of Public Safety worked with the Department of Human Resources and Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center to interview the victim and learn more about the situation.

According to the authorities, the abuse occurred happened over a period of time and included deviant acts with no consent.

Daleville DPS arrested Sayre Monday at 6 p.m. He now faces two charges for rape second-degree, two charges for sodomy, two charges for incest, and four charges for child pornography possession.

The department has asked District Attorney Kirke Adams to push for the maximum bond amount due to the nature of the crimes.

Chief Allen Medley said he is proud of a Lt. Paul for taking simple information and putting an end to a situation that had gone on for sometime. He also extended thanks to the CAC and DHR for their help.
