MIDLAND CITY, Ala. (WDHN) — On Sunday morning, a train and car collision caused one Dale County man to be taken to the hospital, police confirm.
At around 5:00 a.m. on 5th Street and Michigan Avenue, a train struck a car that was driving over the tracks.
Midland City Police Chief Jimmy Singleton said the crash was likely due to the dense fog that was present Sunday morning.
The unnamed man was taken to Flower’s Hospital. His condition is unknown at this time, however, Chief Singleton believes he will survive his injuries.

The train received minor damage from the impact.
